I don't wanna hear it.

"I have nothing to wear!"

"I hate having a dress code."

"I don't have enough money to dress fashionably."

"This outfit is just so not me."

"I can't express myself in a uniform."

Wah. You big babies. It can be done. And it is. The Uniform Project is a unique fundraising opportunity for the Akanksha Foundation. Basically, it's 365 days with one dress (7 copies so laundry can be done). Each day is whole new look. Guaranteed. 122 days/looks have been completed already and $11,854 has been raised for children in Indian slums that are in need of an education. Donate some money, or at least learn from the pictures. Good cause, great style, and a reason for you to stop whining.

How To

In a world before eHowWorst Case Scenario Books (which I absolutely love-I own 4), or even cell phones, there was a book released that I still believe to be one of the greatest books to own. It was first published in 1986. I am pretty sure I stumbled upon it as a toddler. And years later, I am still fascinated. The book is a compilation of instructions, diagrams, and images that are randomly thrown together. To be honest, you probably will never have to use some of the information you learn from this book. But just like the Worst Case Scenario Books, I feel better knowing those tidbits are stored away in my brain. Who knows? Maybe you will use it on Jeopardy some day, if not a real life situation. If you aren't the Jeopardy type, the layout is enough to convince you to buy this book. You can preview a huge chunk of it here. And if that isn't good enough, just look at the title-How To Hold A Crocodile. Are you interested yet?

Just about the coolest thing ever.

And speaking of shoes. I've wanted one of these for a few years. You can buy one from http://rakkudesigns.com/. Uh-maze-ing.

Work and play don't usually get along very well. Especially when it comes to shoes. Dress shoes are often required in the workplace. But instead of heels, I see women wearing flats, wedges, and flip flops. Although there a time and a place where each of these types of shoes is acceptable, they do not belong inside a business meeting, proposal, or presentation. Classic heels are a great choice and in my opinion, should be standard. One of my favorite (affordable) designs for the fall is Jessica Simpson's Acadia. It comes in seven different colors and uses a peep toe, cutouts, and a hidden platform to modernize a classic pump style. You can wear them to work, then out to play afterwards.

Alright gang, let's start this out with an easy one. Apple. That's really all I should have to say. For years this company has figured it out. Less is more. Take a look at the products. Or the packaging. Or even the instruction booklets. In the world of design, simple is not easy (especially when it comes to complex technology). Characteristics include a simple logo, clean lines, and basic colors. It just works.
